Konkola Copper Mines PLC, Chililabombwe is located some 150 km north of Ndola International Airport in the Copperbelt province of Zambia, approximately 15 km from the Kasabulesa border point with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In 30 Januray, 2008, XCMSE was awarded a contract of 4 off Koepe skip for Konkola Copper Mines. This scope of work includes the furnishing of all material and services for the design, supply, manufacture, marking, corrosion protection, workshop testing, delivery to site, supervision of commissioning of the following equipment for No. 4 Shaft:
- 37 tonne rock hoisting skips for the Koepe winder;
- Associated loading chutes and tipping arrangements

The following is included within this scope of work:
• Detail design of the 37 tonne skip and bridle arrangement for the Koepe winder, including method of attachment to drawbars, deadeyes and removable inspection cage.
• Detail design of the tipping arrangement for the 37 tonne skips
• Manufacture of four 37 tonne skip bridles, including top transom, bottom transom, bridle hangers, drawbar attaching pins and deadeye arrangement and provision for suspension of inspection cage.
• Manufacture of four 37 tonne skips c/w all guide rollers, tipping rollers, locking levers, guide slippers and discharge door.
• Manufacture of two removable inspection cages suitable for suspension below the 37 tonne skip bridles c/w method of suspension.
• Manufacture of two sets of tipping arrangement equipment for the 37 tonne skips c/w monkey rails.
• Manufacture & supply of loading chute arrangement and traverse cars for the Koepe skips.
• Workshop assembly of the skips.
• Corrosion protection of the skips and bridles.
• Delivery to site of all bridles, skips, tipping arrangements after workshop assembly.
• Supervision of commissioning of the bridles, skips and tipping arrangements. |
